Project Objectives
The primary goal of the “Climate-Smart Steps in Grassland Management and Improvement” project is to enhance the capacity of Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers and professionals to address the challenges posed by climate change on grassland ecosystems.
The project is structured around the following core objectives:
1. Core Objectives
- To Develop Innovative VET Content: To create and pilot high-quality, up-to-date educational modules and curricula focused on climate-smart grassland management techniques for VET trainees, farmers, and advisors.
- To Enhance Digital and Green Skills: To equip VET trainers and learners with the necessary digital tools and “green skills” required for sustainable, data-driven management and monitoring of grassland health.
- To Establish a Knowledge Exchange Platform: To build a robust, multilingual online platform or resource hub that facilitates the transfer of best practices and research findings among partners and the wider European agricultural community.
- To Promote Cross-Sectoral Cooperation: To strengthen the collaboration between educational institutions, research bodies, and industry professionals across partner countries to ensure the relevance and applicability of the training materials.
2. Expected Impact and Aims
Wider Dissemination and Uptake: A key aim is to widely disseminate the intellectual outputs (IOs) among European stakeholders, promoting their effective use in national VET systems and agricultural extension services.
Improvement in Grassland Sustainability: The project aims to contribute to more sustainable and resilient grassland management practices across partner regions, ultimately supporting climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts in the agricultural sector.
Increased VET Relevance: By incorporating climate-smart knowledge into VET, the project aims to increase the attractiveness and labor market relevance of vocational training in agriculture.
