As part of the SMART STEP Project (Project No.: 2025-1-TR01-KA220-VET-000349844), a dissemination event was held on 21 September 2026 at ITP-PIB, the Polish project partner institution.
The event, held in Warsaw, was attended by three students from a vocational high school specialising in environmental protection. The students were completing their practical vocational training at ITP-PIB.
During the event, particular emphasis was placed on climate-smart grassland and pasture management and adaptation to climate change. The students were introduced to the main objectives, planned activities and expected results of the SMART STEP project. They were also informed about the project’s efforts to develop sustainable and innovative management approaches to address the impacts of climate change on agricultural production and pasture ecosystems.
As part of the practical component of the programme, the students visited a permanent grassland and pasture field experimental site. During the visit, they learned how field and plot experiments are planned and conducted and had the opportunity to observe research activities directly in the field. In addition, practical training was provided on feed sampling methodology.
The event aimed to enhance the students’ knowledge and awareness of climate change, sustainable pasture management and agricultural research practices. At the same time, introducing the objectives and outputs of the SMART STEP project to young people studying in the field of vocational education contributed to the dissemination and visibility of the project.
The activity also provided an opportunity to strengthen the connection between vocational education, agricultural research and climate-smart pasture management, supporting the SMART STEP project’s broader objective of promoting sustainable and climate-resilient approaches in the management of grassland and pasture resources.
