Co-funded by the Turkish National Agency and the European Union, the Erasmus+ project titled “Climate-Smart Steps in Grassland Management and Improvement,” coordinated by Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, successfully held its training activity in Austria.

The training sessions were conducted by the project partner, the Agricultural Research and Education Centre (AREC) Raumberg-Gumpenstein, and focused on satellite-based grassland monitoring alongside the impacts of climate change.

The intensive program combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience over three days. On the first day, participants engaged in fieldwork and received detailed instruction on field data collection, biodiversity, grassland restoration, and the specific impacts of climate change on grassland research. This was followed on the second day by a botanical excursion to high-altitude mountain grasslands on Loser Mountain. Finally, the program concluded with a visit to the 80-year-old long-term grassland experiments in Admont, where participants carried out fieldwork focused on alpine pasture management and mountain grassland stands.
