Between April 6–8, 2026, a “Safe Tractor Use Training” was conducted in the Karaisalı district. A total of 100 farmers participated in the three-day training program. Throughout the program, information on occupational safety in tractor use, proper equipment usage, and accident prevention was delivered to participants both theoretically and practically.

The closing ceremony of the training was attended by Karaisalı Mayor Bekir Şimşek, District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Pınar Dölek, our Training Center Director Dr. Bülent Ayhan, trainers, and farmers.

During the information session of the meeting, participants’ questions were answered and awareness-raising information on safe tractor use was shared. In addition, information was provided about the “Climate-Smart Steps in Grassland Management and Improvement (SMART STEP)” Project, in which Adana TAYEM Directorate is among the partners. Attention was drawn to the impacts of climate change on agriculture, and it was emphasized that developing climate-resilient production models is becoming increasingly important.

Within this scope, producers were informed about the project, and it was stated that the SMART STEP Project aims to improve the sustainable management of grassland and pasture areas, promote climate-adaptive production models, and increase efficiency in the use of natural resources. It was also expressed that, within the project, field studies conducted in different countries have been used to analyze best practice examples. In particular, findings from studies carried out in Spain demonstrated the positive impacts of planned grazing, efficient use of water resources, increasing soil organic matter, and climate-friendly production techniques on productivity.
