
Dr. Bülent Ayhan, Director of Adana TAYEM and representative of the Turkish partner institution in the project, paid a visit to Mr. Şakir Berktaş, Director of the Ankara Seed Registration and Certification Center Directorate, at his office.
During the meeting, discussions focused particularly on the impacts of climate change on seed production, quality criteria, and genetic sustainability. Evaluations were made regarding the possible effects of changing climatic conditions on certification processes, variety performance, and the long-term conservation of genetic resources.
Within the scope of the visit, the project titled “Climate-Smart Steps in Grassland Management and Improvement” (Project No: 2025-1-TR01-KA220-VET-000349844), in which the Directorate is a partner, was also introduced.
A detailed briefing on the project’s objectives, scope, and planned activities was delivered by our Director, Dr. Bülent Ayhan. Emphasis was placed on the project’s expected contributions to climate-smart approaches in grassland management, sustainable production systems, and vocational education.
The visit concluded with mutual wishes to strengthen institutional cooperation and continue technical collaboration.
